Fremantle is a modern coastal port city located at the mouth of the Swan River and only a few kilometres south of Perth on Western Australia’s magnificent southern coastline. Fremantle is a bustling, cosmopolitan city with a seaside atmosphere that is second to none. The entire CBD area is renovated and includes lots of great restaurants, cosy cafes, brassy nightclubs and swanky shopping malls. Being a port city, Fremantle is also home to a number of excellent marina’s.

This is a historic place and there are lots of things to do in Fremantle like the WA Maritime Museum, the Fremantle Prison and the fishing boat harbour are all tourist attractions in their own right. The Fremantle markets are a great place to shop and very well known in the district. The Fremantle Australian Rules Football Club attracts a cult following from the local and is now part of the Australian Football league. Its home is Subiaco Oval. Fremantle is closer to a number of fantastic surfing beaches and is a great place to base yourself for a holiday in the Perth region. Rottnest Island lies just offshore and regular ferry services take day tourists out to see the beautiful bays, inlets and wildlife that are prolific here. To the South lies Mandurah which is one of Australia’s fastest growing city’s. Many international tourists come to Perth and use Fremantle accommodation for a base before setting off on their travels to other Western Australian destinations to both the south and the north.
